Dr. Debra Palazzi

Medical Director of the Antimicrobial Stewardship Program

Dr. Palazzi is Medical Director of the Antimicrobial Stewardship Program at Texas Children’s Hospital and a member the of Pediatric Infectious Diseases Society’s Education Subcommittee of the Pediatric Committee on Antimicrobial Stewardship. In addition, she participates in the SHARPS (SHaring Antimicrobial Reports for Pediatric Stewardship) group, a collaborative of more than 30 children’s hospitals focused on establishing best practices for the use of antimicrobials in children. Dr. Palazzi also is a member of the International Pediatric Fungal Network and participates in multi-center studies evaluating the epidemiology, diagnosis and treatment of invasive fungal infections in children. Dr. Palazzi is Associate Program Director for Curriculum in the Pediatric Infectious Diseases Fellowship Program as well as co-director of Fellows’ College in the Department of Pediatrics, Baylor College of Medicine and Texas Children’s Hospital. She has a Masters of Education in teaching with an emphasis in the health sciences from the University of Houston.
